About Us

Crusaders Squash Club, established in 1975, is one of the leading squash clubs in the Eastern Cape and forms part of the broader Crusaders Sports Club in Gqeberha. Located at the iconic St George’s Park, our club operates within one of South Africa’s most historic sporting precincts, home to international and provincial cricket for over a century.

We pride ourselves on being the pinnacle squash complex in Nelson Mandela Bay, offering six courts, including four with glass backs, creating a top-tier playing and viewing experience. Complementing this, Crusaders boasts the largest dedicated squash spectator stand in the metro.

In 2024, the club underwent major renovations to its bar, entertainment, and braai facilities, significantly enhancing the overall member experience and positioning Crusaders as one of the premier squash facilities in South Africa.

Crusaders is a highly active competitive club, fielding teams across Eastern Province leagues from 1st through to 9th League, and proudly securing both the Men’s and Ladies 1st League titles in 2025. We also regularly host high-profile tournaments, including national events such as the 2025 Jarvis Kaplan and USSA Championships, reinforcing our reputation as a leading competition venue.

Our membership base exceeds 220 members, with a variety of individual and family packages available. Members are part of the wider Crusaders Sports Club, which provides access to the main club’s facilities, including the members’ bar and viewing stands during international and provincial cricket matches and major events at the stadium.

While we are competitive at the highest levels, we are equally committed to inclusivity and community. We welcome players of all abilities, from beginners to national representatives. Social members are an important part of the club, with popular Saturday morning “pitch and play” sessions offering a relaxed and engaging environment.

In addition to squash, Racketball (Squash 57) has become a major feature of the club over the past decade. With over 70 active players, Crusaders has hosted the national Racketball Championships on several occasions and runs a dedicated summer league alongside our well-supported squash leagues.

Ultimately, it is our members and sponsors who define who we are. Their support and involvement make Crusaders a vibrant, welcoming, and high-performing club. Whether you are looking to compete, socialise, or simply enjoy the game, Crusaders Squash Club offers a space for everyone.
